Louise Hart's Personal Story
Louise's hardworking immigrant parents took very good care of her physical needs. Yet the harsh parenting style and severe punishment were harmful. Louise vowed to find a better way to raise her children.
The many years as a stay-at-home mom were a developmental journey for her as well as for her three children. She worked on healing from her childhood while developing a positive, love-based style of child rearing. Her first book, The Winning Family, describes how she changed those patterns and became the mother she wished she had had.
Louise has an adventurous life. When her children were very young, the family was affiliated with the Peace Corps in Guatemala. When they were teenagers, they biked in Europe meeting relatives and visiting castles. Her greatest personal triumph was trekking in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. After trudging up the Kumbu Glacier for many days, she reached the top of Kala Patthar for the spectacular view of the Mount Everest landscape!
When the first of her three grandchildren was born thirteen years ago, Louise moved from Boulder, Colorado to Oakland, California, to be “Grama Lulu.” She loves living close to her extended family and participating in the lives of her three young grandchildren.

Grandchildren are Life's Dessert!
"Playing will develop your sense of humor, along with that of your kids. A regular dose of giggles and snorts does wonderful, even astonishing, things for your emotional and physical health and well-being. A sense of humor can be a saving grace in times of stress, and a survival tool throughout life."
