As a young mother of three, Louise Hart unraveled many of her dysfunctional family patterns. Later, while working on her Doctorate in Community Psychology, she confirmed her belief that prevention and positive parenting can reduce—even eliminate—pain, destructive behaviors and expensive treatment later in life.
For 20 years, her presentations and books have helped many thousands of people develop the crucial building blocks for healthy living. An inspiring and entertaining speaker, Dr. Hart offers warm wisdom, a breadth of knowledge, and up-to-date science in an easily understandable manner that leaves workshop participants begging for more. Her anecdotes, graphics, and upbeat speaking style create instant rapport with audiences.
Dr. Hart has appeared on over 200 radio programs. Her articles have appeared in the Ladies Home Journal, Family Circle, Families in Recovery, Parenting, and Mothering magazines, and in parenting papers nationwide. She sits on the advisory board of Child-Friendly Initiative.
On a personal note, Louise was affiliated with the Peace Corps in Guatemala, biked in Europe with her teenagers, and trekked in Nepal and New Zealand. She lives in Oakland, California near her grown children and grandchildren.
She is working on a new book with her daughter, writer Kristen Caven.
